Overtaking
Trackday.ie operates a policy of overtaking ‘by consent'. This means you should only overtake someone when they have indicated and moved over to the right.
Overtaking is strictly on the left hand side. Overtaking on the right is not acceptable and you may be black flagged.
If there is a car in your rear view mirror that wasn't there before, they are significantly quicker than you. You must let them pass. Indicate right and move over when it's safe to do so.
When allowing someone to overtake you, please lift off the accelerator until they have safely passed. Your car may be quicker on the straights but slower in the corners so cooperation between both parties is essential for trouble free overtaking
Trackday Etiquitte, Rules and Reg's
First and foremost, your car must be ‘track-worthy'. This means your tyres, brakes, lights and all mechanical components are present and correct.
If there is concern over the safety of your car you may be asked to sit out the day. This includes potential hazards such as oil and coolant leaks.
If you think your car may be leaking fluid, don't ignore the problem. Fluid on track has the potential to cause serious accidents.
Noise Testing
Different tracks have different noise limits. Track days are subject to random noise testing. If you are called aside for a noise test please cooperate with the marshals and they will have you back on track in no time!
